Remark says -Shinpachi, many thanks again for your help and for the much better quality tables!
But i have to apologize, i must be thick of something, i still don't quite understand the numbers, is 48/88 refering to the planes available/total and (145/165) to the pilots available/ total? Is that what the figures in parantheses represent, pilots and/or aircrew?
There used to be some English translations in Australia and Netherland like the attached pdf files of Senshi Sosho (戦史叢書 = War History Series). Thanks you very much for clarification, and for the high quality table Shinpachi. The information in the Senshi Sosho volumes is amazing, pity it's so little used in the west (probably the language barrier being the biggest hurdle)
Here are full volumes but I recommend you to learn basic Chinese characters if you do not yet. Many thanks for the Senshi Sosho volume index and the pdf translations, i had the NG and NEI ones, but not the first one.
Do you have by any chance the link to the japanese site where the SS volumes can be downloaded? I KNOW i have it somewhere but i can't find it now, in the past i did download a few volumes of interest such as the Formosa one. Which one do you think should cover the Truk attack in February 1944?
Vol. 11, 12, 13 and 62 cover the defense of Truk.Which one do you think should cover the Truk attack in February 1944?
