I checked that light sports aircraft could fly 680 km/h at TIO-550 Lycoming/Continental kinda flat 6 engines.

550 km/h at 275 hp engine...which are 30 000 usd a piece. Could be too cheap...like a car cost.

Electric motor could be excellent on these solutions.

What plane is that?? Sounds way too good to be true.

Historically, utilizing GA aircraft as military platforms with minimal structural changes has not been very successful.

The video coming out of Ukraine where they're using Yak-52's and A-22's with gunners wielding shotguns or the minigun armed An-28 show how challenging it is to hit a small aerial target. Air to air anti-drone operations have been pretty much the old "spray and pray" method of shooting, which leaves everything and everyone behind the target vulnerable as collateral. However, Ukraine has integrated it's anti-drone drone as an air to air weapon on Mi-8's, but I've not seen video, only pictures.

The process has to become more surgical than filling the sky with bullets. New fire control systems to direct weapons onto these small targets is the solution.

Nothing that is in the market place now...sorry.

You have very good points.

These are real easy to shoot down from an aircraft.
