I'm not sure if Cirrus was the direct progenitor, but I don't know the history of this Spanish design in detail.

If Wiki is any guide all the dimensions of the two engines, except bore and stroke, are different. Looking at Janes or Lumsden may solve the paternity issue thought the Janes ref looks wrong to me
