Greetings all,
This is my first post here, and I'm impressed with all the information that's here.

I would like to get some help with a propeller blade I am restoring for display purposes-

It is a Hamilton Standard
Mfg Number N715322
DWG-N06933A-9

I'm looking for the specs for the Low Angle and High Angle for the information stencil near the hub of the blade. Does anyone have or know where I can get the details on this blade?

thanks!

Cory

I have looked in the blade model list from H/S manual 130B and 6933 is not one of the blades listed. Do you have the length of the blade? The closest blade model that I can see is 6533.

The blade angles depends on the aircraft that it was installed on. The 6533 blade is the basic D shank, Hydromatic, blade used on multiple aircraft so different many different aircraft, both single and multi engine.

Hi Michael, thanks for the quick reply.

I thought this was a Hamilton Standard blade, possibly used on a T-28, but maybe I've got bad information. The blade measures 53-1/4" from shank to the tip. I've attached some pictures, I'd greatly appreciate any additional info!

Thanks!

Cory

I do not have access to the Military manuals. The 130B manual is the civilian manual for the overhaul of the H/S blades. By the length that you gave as long as it has not cut down, i.e. still a "-9", the basic propeller would be about 10 feet in diameter. I did a quick check through the FAA TCDS for H/S propellers and there is no FAA listed blade of 6933A-9. The shape of the blade looks like it could be a P2 Neptune blade, just a wild guess from memory, not researched.

OK, thanks so much for that info! I'll do some more google-ing and see what I can find.

Could it be from an Ayres Thrush series aircraft?

Ayres Thrush - Wikipedia

Some S2R variants were fitted with R-1820-x series engines. Of the R-1820-x equipped variants, some used Hamilton Standard 43D50-321 constant speed hubs with (6933A-9*) blades. 111"/109" max/min diameter, 21.5°-52.5° at 42" station.

EDIT *Sorry, typo in my original post. 6933A-9 is the correct blade type.

You've probably long since received an answer, but the blade is for a T-28C Trojan. The -C model was used for carrier quals. The Hi is 52.5, Low is 20.5, 42 ST, Index of 17.5. I have images of a blade root if required.
