A bit late in the campaign, but JD Webster, in cahoots with Against the Odds gamezine, is running a Kickstarter for his latest in the Fighting Wings family of WW2 air combat boardgames. The latest, Tiger Wings, is a revision of the simplified rules first released in ATO #27 Buffalo Wings. This new campaign study will focus on the opening stages of the air fighting of the Greater Pacific War. Over 20 aircraft of the combatant nations, Japan, United States, Dutch, British Commonwealth - fighters and light bombers, will be represented with individual Aircraft Data Cards while heavier bombers will be represented in a more basic way. (They mostly just act as targets for fighters.) A two sided map is included as well as numerous historical scenarios covering the air fighting from China to Burma and Malaya to the Phillipines.
Less than two weeks to go to pledge your support and unlock those Kickstarter Exclusive add-ons that won't be included in the retail version of the issue. Check out the Kickstarter - Tiger Wings webpage for the current status of the campaign, what is included, and what could be included as the number of backers hits the stretch goals.
Over 450 people have pledged over $43,000 to make this game release a success.

With just over a week to go over $44000 pledged. 470 investors. The next stretch goal is $46.5k. More bomber data cards and scenarios. This is a big one for me as it includes the B-17E and Martin WH3, two aircraft that have never appeared in a Fighting Wings product before.
I'm in for two copies. One for me and one for a friend.

With just under a week to go we've crossed the $46.5k $47k threshhold, which unlocks the ADCs for the B-17C/D, B-17E, Ki-21, and WH-3A and a super- simplified "Quick Start" rules supplement. Over 500 backers so far. The next stretch goal is "poker style" cards for the bombers already included. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get to $50k which will include die cut counters for many of the aircraft released as pdfs on Wargame Vault as three packs of ADCs or the Six Pack supplements featuring six aircraft data cards and scenarios featuring them.
I have been gaming this series since the mid-90s, when OVER the REICH, and ACHTUNG! SPITFIRE! first came out, and have watched the number of aircraft covered grow from a few dozen to hundreds! But the stuff JD has released online or through Wargame Vault have been without appropriate counters.
Now, there is a VASSAL module available for the Fighting Wings series (several?), but I prefer having the physical map and counters to push around.
OK, I really like setting up my 1:300 aircraft on their flight stands, but with the breadth of aircraft covered by this system, it's hard to keep up.
And if we get to $52k, we get another 4 ADCs - P-26, A-24, early Ki-44, early Ki-45.
Fingers crossed. 🤞

Just 3 1/2 days to the end of the campaign. Nearly $51k pledged. Adding the A-24, P-26, F1M2 (updated to 3rd Ed. standards) and Boeing Stearman (?!!!) at $52k. Throwing in the Nomonhan "Six Pack" #3 and extra player aid cards if the pledges keep coming.

Just 12 hours to go in the campaign.
Over $56k pledged so far. Over 600 backers.
The list of Kickstarter exclusive content , including additional Aircraft Data Cards and scenarios makes the game a steal at $55 plus shipping.
