Hello FiftyCal,
The level of detail this fellow is going for is way beyond what I am after.
I figure the equivalent is that he is trying to build a 1:1 scale model or perhaps even better and I am going for something with the kind of detail typically found in a modern 1:144 scale plastic model or a 1:48 scale kit from around 1965-1970.
