Hi all,

I am a senior-year aerospace engineering student at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute working on my capstone project, which is an analysis of the N13Y (a modified P51-D-20-NA, and winner of the 1948 Thompson Trophy Race).

I was wondering if anyone had ordinates or blueprints for the wing airfoil sections and/or the fuselage station profiles of the P51-D that they would be willing to share? I have been struggling to find resources that are not hundreds of dollars, and while we have access to the aircraft itself I doubt I can measure things like airfoil sections effectively without 3D scanning (which it is too glossy to scan!). I did find the root and tip airfoils on the UIUC airfoil database, but I doubt I can simply loft between them.

As an added bonus, if anyone is able to share the station drawings of the Hamilton Standard 6547A-6, which was used on the N13Y, that would be awesome :))

Thank you so much!

Doesn't answer your question but some interesting photos.

Its a lot of typing, but these are the loft coordinates of the P-51D/K wing. Be careful, as the wing of the P-51B/C and P-51H are different. N13Y started life as a P-51D.

Thank you so much!! That's exactly the sort of stuff I'm looking for. I've been struggling a lot with finding stuff specifically on the D variant, lots of info out there on the B/C that has tricked me a few times until I looked closely. I'm gonna get started on CADing those wings with this new information 😎

Do you know what the "expanded" section is referring to?
