All in, how did the British, German and US paratroops compare?

By the end of the war, many German Fallschirmjäger were paras by name only, but were very well combat trained.

The worst counter example was the 9 Fallschirmjäger Division formed of various ordinary Luftwaffe personel that had a mitigated performance during the defense of Berlin.

Don't forget the Italian Paracadutisti.

Don't forget the Canadian Army's 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion.

They trained both in the U.S. and England and were attached to the British 3rd Parachute Brigade, but they were quite accomplished.

- US trained : 1er Régiment de Chasseurs Parachutistes.

- British trained : 2e Régiment de Chasseurs Parachutistes ( 3 SAS Regiment) and 3e Régiment de Chasseurs Parachutistes (4 SAS Regiment).
