My grandfather was spotted by his mother in Iwo Jima newsreel footage of his PB4Y-1 taxiing on the island. Can anyone point me to where I might find that footage?

No, but I can provide you with a COLOR footage of a PB4Y-1 Liberator on Guam in USCG markings.
