Who knows what is the function of these dots on certain canopies of radio operators on Bristol Beaufighter ?

Perhaps a kind of vents or holes making breaking of the glass easier when being an emergency.

OK, my computer just took a solid 2 hours to perform one of those damned Windows updates after it was slow all morning downloading it.

I don't have any definitive info but I believe those "dots" are snap connections on the inside of the hood for attaching a canvas shade to prevent glare on radar screens or other devices. Hope this helps. Sorry I don't have anything more precise.

I read thru those and there is still nothing definitive apart from the reference to black-out curtains for training and that is only anecdotal.

It's for attachment of the sunglare screen which is contained in a pouch on the aircrafts port side immediately forward of the observers seat (from the pilots notes)
