Regarding the "New Posts" buttons

I have been doing a couple of picture threads in the "Personal Gallery" section of the "Off Topic" area. These posts seldom show up in any of the "new posts" buttons. What determines whether a new post is registered as such? I hate to post this stuff if nobody is looking at the posts...

If it's set up like other boards I'm on, my own posts won't show under new threads or posts. Either someone has to have a followup post in the thread or I have to look under my screen name for "your content" to find it.

Cvairwerks is correct. If you post a new thread or post these aren't show on the New Thread/Post list. It is because if you are the sender you know what you sent and there is no reason for informing you about that. Contrary to that if there is a sombody who posted there you are noticed about that and a such post is displayed on the list then. All notifications you may find at the top bar with the "Bell" icon.

Whether you see your new post depends on whether you are logged in or not when you click [New posts] button.

Next time after you have posted, log out, and then click [New posts] button, and you should see it.

Something to remember about viewing while logged out... Some board restrict the forums that can be viewed while not logged in, and other restrict the number of posts that can be viewed. There's a couple of boards I'm on where visitors can only see the first post or two of a thread until they log into the board. Others have entire sections of the board that are not even visible to readers that are not logged in.

Thank you, Gentlemen. I am only active on a couple of forums and had never encountered this behavior before (or was blissfully unaware). I'm afraid I'm a pretty analog sort of guy -- out of step with this world unfolding around us....
