Greetings Guys Gals;



Tonight's post is going to be the Rolls Royce 593. This is the engine
that you would find in the British French Concord SST.

Unfortunately she is no-longer flying. What a beautiful looking
aircraft she is.

Added:Olympus O593 engine overhaul manuals with complete illustrated parts catalogue.
Olympus O593 are the the only civil engine with afterburner, which was the second largest turbojet in the world except NK-36 engine Tu-144 used.
Interestingly, O593 was the fastest engine that could operate without any afterburner, supercruising at M=2.0.
Other supersonic aircrafts mainly had to supersonic flight depending on their afterburner, such as MIG-25s and SR-71s.
Although F-22 could supersonic cruise at M1.5, its supersonic cruise flight is much slower than Concorde equipped with O593.
