On 16 April 1945 the destroyer USS Laffey was on radar picket duty off Okinawa when 22 Japanese aircraft came for her. In eighty minutes six kamikazes hit her and four bombs struck home. 31 men were killed and 71 wounded, and the ship was burning from end to end. She still sailed away under her own power. I made a short documentary about that morning, the picket line, and the Bunker Hill a month later, and I would be glad to hear what I got wrong. Was the radar picket line worth the price the crews paid?

I appreciate the effort going into the videos.
However - AI is, at least for me, an instant turn-off.
