For someone, who's unaware (as I was up to about 5 years ago) how the treatment of the Spitfire changed, over the years, it's easy to be fooled into thinking that the l/e is a single piece.Like I mentioned above, it was just what i read, i wasn't sure about it. It would've give the D-box = torsion box argument more weight, but I think even if it's not true, the evidence is enough.
