Not sure if this is the proper forim to post this? But when did applying paint with spray equipment begin? As opposed to brush application. Specifically German aircraft. Just curious if the spraying technology was around during WW1?

The technology was around from the late 1800s, it is the same basic idea for insect sprays and carburetors, dunno when they started using it on aircraft.
