When I was 10 years old I bought a Japanese flying suit in a little junk shop in Tokyo. It was brand new- unissued- and had rabbits fur lining and electrical heating wires in it.

In San Antonio as a kid about '60, I bought a dirt cheap WWII bomber crewman trousers and vest from a then ubiquitous Army/Navy store, heated with 24V wiring. I was a low time pilot, doing high altitude (high twenties altitude oil lease infrared photography at night) in a turbocharged Cessna 180. Two lead acid car batteries would keep me toasty for a few hours.
I gave it to a buddy who used it with dry cells during deer season.

If only we could have known the future values of today. In the 60s I bought a Nambu holster for $12from Roland's Sporting goods who sold surplus also. Years later I could finally find a Nambu for it. The regret is Rolands had two more Nambu holsters, considering todays's value, a missed opportunity.

I had an RAF Pilot Officer Jacket in my very small military collection. I could feel the crinkling of paper in the liner of the left pocket. I noticed a small hole in the corner and opened it a little more. I managed to pull out a £20 note
