For big gun Infantry support they get Leopard 1s. Its very much possible we'd see them with ERA bricks and a cage.

And the Stug's historical ground was often in Ukraine. Well, we still have the Stug buggy keeping the nickname alive.

Ukraine has lost around 62 T64 and replaced them with an upgrade to 119 T 72 thanks to Russian tankers having abandonment issues.

I guess no one is bringing back the casemate tank.

A modern take on the twin-gun Versuchsträger 1 but with rapid autoloader would be interesting.

Indeed. A German casemate tank once again rolling across Ukraine would be noteworthy.

They were all converted which involved removing the gun. About 25% became Jaguar 2 equipped with TOW and the rest Observation/training.
Apart from museum pieces they are likely all scrapped now.

In hindsight, NATO should have followed the Russian example and instead of scrapping its Leo1s, Chieftains, M-60s, etc., store them.

I'm not sure a well modernized Chieftain, Challenger 1, Leo1 or M60 would be obsolete in this war.

Right, and aside from the shoddy tactics seen earlier in the war, we're now seeing Russian tanks on the battlefield colliding with each other. That speaks to poor training. I'll probably get another rainbow for this post.

Considering that the Ukrainians are masters of UAV warfare, they would be well aware of what it takes to protect a tank destroyer like a StuG, which would be waiting in ambush and hard to spot from the ground and/or air anyway.
