"There I was..." (2 Viewers)

A post in another thread made me think about Bob Stevens, a long time military cartoonist and Air Force pilot. Joined during WWII, but before the war trained as an artist so started making cartoons about military life. His humor was the last page of Air Force magazine up to his passing in the mid-1990's.

He published a few books including, "There I was...", "More, There I was...", "If you read me, rock the tower"

One page would be cartoons, the opposite page would be some historical info about that cartoon or lyrics to a song from the era. Was funny and educational.

Any other Bob Stevens fans in the forum?

I am a long time fan of Stevens and have his books. I posted a couple of his in "jokes" page.
For some reason my favorite is:

DOH! Didn't even think of looking there if anyone had already posted about Bob.

One of my favorites as well.
