Another "sounds" record that is remembered from back then was "Big Sounds of The Drags", which is an auditory account of an NHRA sactioned drag racing event.
I think my brother had that record when I was little kid.
I remember a flexible 45 that came in a National Geographic magazine called "Sounds of the humpback whale". It had a spot where you had to put a penny to get it to play right (I guess).
