The number on the plate was 88443.then re numbered 88943.the two numbers on crank shaft are consectative .83506/83507.are these engine or construction numbers.and are two items related.tiger moth dh82a ?.dh museum and air historical branch are closed.and can they search without a serial number.The may have been 443.and changed to 88943.information by de Havilland museum states its a early gipsy major made between 1931-1935.and could have been fitted to a number of de Havilland aircraft a mystery that may not be solved.
