Hi folks, a new member here... Steve. I wondered if anybody can identify this control panel.. probably WW2 vintage. From the engravings, it came from an aircraft with a tail wheel... and a mid-upper turret which could be removed.

I'm looking forward to hearing any ideas you may have!

SCI BOMB R?? PANEL R B ? ?

It may be a fuse panel. The pairs of holes look like tube fuses are missing. Notice "REMOVE LINK WHEN TURRET IS FITTED"? I suspect that means to pull the fuse.

The Rs and Bs may indicate color banding on the fuses of different amperages.

Excellent suggestion, thank you. The fact that all the holes are a similar size would support this. The panel was found on Orford Ness a few days ago by a ranger, in an area where vulnerability trials were carried out on various aircraft. We know, for example, that just after the war, the German R4M rocket was tested against Halifax and Warwick fuselages, and that there was at least one Lancaster on the Ness (remains of a wing are still visible today).
