Does any member have current contact details (e-mail address etc) for the TVAR (Tempsford Veterans and Relatives Association) ?
My last information was that the TVAR was still being run (remotely) by Robert Body and his wife who had moved to Crete a few years ago. Robert wrote the book in 2016 'Runways to Freedom' about the 138 and 161 Special Duties Squadrons at RAF Tempsford during WW2.
I have two e-mail addresses '[email protected]' and '[email protected]' but these do not appear to 'work' anymore ?.

A quick google revealed the following email address [email protected] but the website I got it from doesn't seem to have been updated since 2023 (https://www.tempsford-squadrons.info/TVARA history.htm). However, perhaps worth a try?

This is totally unrelated but I just thought Id say that back in 2008 I was helping reinstall an engine I had built into a Yak C-11. I built the radial ASh-21 engine in Stratford upon Avon and the aircraft was at Little Gransden in Hertfordshire.
Every day I'd drive from home to LG and back again each evening and each day my route took me past RAF Tempsford. Being a WW2 nut, of course I stopped outside the airfield. It was so atmospheric there but hugely sad that somewhere that did such a lot to end the war and for many brave people, this was the last glimpse of England they would see, was in such an unkempt state. It was a deeply moving experience for me and I was so sad it was not better looked after.
