For those that have not heard, the U-2 is a wonder of high altitude accomplishments. But everything that has been released to the rest of the world indicates that her low speed control is a real BITCH!

I've heard that it's a real nerve racking aircraft at altitude also. In the rarified air at that altitude the critical mach number and the stall speed are not too many kts apart!

Yeah funny, I agree. But only funny because it is steeped in reality. We lost one not too long ago in Guam on a routine landing, if I recall correctly.
