Use of Aerial anti shipping mines in the SWPA

I have not read of the use of aerial mines (influence) in the SWPA in WW2 by the US or any CW forces, but that does not mean they did not?

Does anyone know of this having happened?

Yes, extensively by the RAAF Catalina squadrons from 1943 onwards.
