What aircraft and location?

My Dad, Ed Seaman, was a sergeant with the 382nd Air Service Squadron attached to the 368th Fighter Group. Attached are two photos of him (that's him on the vertical stabilizer and in the middle of the group photo). They moved from base to base through Europe as the war progressed. I was hoping someone might know what type of plane this is and where it might be. My barely educated guess is it is a JU 88. From the markings I'll bet someone knows exactly what aircraft this is and where.

It's a Ju88G of NJG4 (NactJagd Geschwader 4), possibly at Guttersloh, Germany.
