I am scaling that at 150 feet long so, your 1/48 is going to be about 3 feet long, depends how hard you blow it up!

The top one is the German copy of the French Caquot M2 observation balloon that can be seen in the bottom image. German copy was named AE. Ballon/ AB. Ballon or just the Type Ae 800. These balloons were made by the Riedinger Ballonfabrik in Augsburg. The volume of the French balloon was of 900 m³ while the German one was of 850 m³. The shell length was 25 m, the maximum diameter- 8,15 m. So the model of 1/48 scale would be about 520mm ( 52cm) long what is about 20.47"
