Hi guys and gals,

Been working on this for awhile and thought it might be interesting as a post.

This is a timeline of WWII looked at mostly from the aviation side of things.

Would love to post it as a Word file, but thath is seemingly not allowed with a docx extension.

I can say this, a LOT happened!

This is the kind of compilation I've been looking for as a discussion primer of "...this month in WWII history..." I do monthly with the Cadets in my CAF squadron.

I did find one error in my first quick review:

March 1942
...delivery begins North American P-5A,...

I'm sure you meant the P-51A.

If you make this a living document with updates and changes, I do hope you continue to post them here.

Thank you for sharing. Ambitious project, indeed. It can be difficult to create a timeline for all theatres and areas.

(details from Air Ministry records, dates/month are for first of each sub-type that was delivered ex the NAA factory following acceptance.)

NA-73 Mustang I - October 1941
NA-83 Mustang I - April 1942
NA-91 P-51 Mustang / Mustang IA - July 1942
NA-99 P-51A Mustang / Mustang II - March 1943

Disagree, since there wasn't a NAA P-5A, I'm sure he meant the P-51A, regardless if there is a date error.
