To the Arizona Aircraft Storage Branch (AASB), Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. Reclaimed on the 23rd of September 1957. BoS from USAF on the 3rd of April 1958.
Registered N7641C on the 20th January 1959; cancelled on the 22nd of October. Crashed on the 7th of April 1966 at Hagerstown, MD.
Returned to USAF as 49-1613, on the 25th of January 1968. To North American Aviation, Columbus, OH. Converted to T-28D-5, line number 292.
Assigned to Sacramento Air Materiel Area (SMAAR), McClellan AFB, CA. SOC on the 17th of September 1968.
Assigned to the Military Assistance Program (MAP) .
To Royal Lao AF on the 17th of September 1968 as 49-1613/0-91613. W/o on the 31st of January 1971.
Used by Raven FAC under direction of the US Air Attaché in Laos.

A U.S. Navy Grumman E-2A Hawkeye (BuNo 151715) of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 116 "Sun Kings" landing aboard the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea (CVA-43). VAW-116 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 15 (CVW-15) aboard the Coral Sea for a deployment to the Vietnam from 26 July 1967 to 8 April 1968.
Note the Douglas A-1H Skyraider (BuNo 139734) of Attack Squadron 25 "Fist of the Fleet" in the foreground. The squadron made the last combat deployment of the A-1 attack variant. 139724 was transferred to the U.S. Air Force and served with the 1st Special Operations Squadron, 56th Special Operations Wing. It was shot down by small arms fire 35 km west of Khe Sanh over the Savannakhet Province, Laos, on 6 March 1971. The pilot bailed out and was rescued by a USAF helicopter.
