Shown here is a signal section dug-out on Mount Rombou showing the standard telephone hand-piece and extension ear-piece. The rifle outside the dug-out is a 7 mm (0.276 in) Mexican Mauser. A total of 5,000 of these weapons were requisitioned by the Austro-Hungarian Army in May 1915.
