Probibly the only aircraft to see service in BOTH World Wars. Designed before the Great War, in 1939 the Air Ministry requisitioned a number of civilian owned Avro 504s (built in thje 1920s) and these were used for some months as Target-Tugs for the training of Anti-Aircraft Batteries,
