Shown here is Lancaster B.Mk.I/III 'C-Charlie' of No.101 Sqd after crash-landing at its base Ludford Magna, on returning from a RCM (Radio Counter Measures) sortie on 22nd February, 1944, tearing up part of the airfield's FIDO pipeline system in the process. In this role an extra German-speaking crewmember (Special Operator) was carried to jam communications between German night fighters and their controllers.
