Affectionately known as the 'Applecore' the Albacore had a distictive curving line, dividing the upper and lower surface colourings in standard FAA camouflage. Shown here is a Albacore of a unit based ashore with the code letters C5M in dull red. When commissioned for service aboard a carrier the lettering would change to 5M.
