Shown here is a RS 14 long-range maritime reconnaissance seaplane. Aircraft of this type equipped a number of Squadriglie da Ricignizione Strategica Marittima (Maritime Stategic Reconnaissance Squadrons) located at bases round the Italian coast and in Sicily and Sardinina. They performed useful convoy escort work and llong-distance anti-submarine patrols.
