Shown here is a Avenger Mk.1 2M (FN833) about to take-off from the escort carrier HMS Fencer. The Avenger shows well the line dividing the two surfaces which can be seen to 'lift' to the main and tail planes. the dull red code letters have in this case been outlined in white.
