Shown here is the 'Ruler (ex-USN Prince William)' class escort carrier HMS Nabob (ex-USS Edisto) dragging her tail as she struggles to reach home. She had been torpedoed by U354 in the Barents Sea on 22nd August, 1944. This resulted in 32 sq ft hole aft, below the waterline. She aventually reached Scapa Flow on the 27th, where she was examined and deemed to be too badly damaged and decommissioned on 10th October, 1944.
