The only time I can find HMS Tartar being near Iceland during the war was in August 1941, when, accompanied by two U.S. Destroyers she headed west to escort the Prince of Wales, which was bringing Mr. Churchill back from his meeting with President Roosevelt. Both Battleship and escort stopped off at Hvalfiord on the 16th August.
