On 14 February 1944 the Coastal Command Development Unit experimented with night photography on the submarine HMS Umbra. a Wellington G.R.Mk.XII fitted with a Leigh Light dropped three bakelite bombs from 40', spaced at 80', while a 'Sea Search' camera illuminated the target. The photo was taKen through a mirror by an American K24 camera with a 7" lens. Ref: AIR 65/77
