This aerial reconnaissance photo of Gdynia on 20 August 1942 shows: 1. the northern floating dock from Kiel, ready to accommodate the battleship Gneisenau; 2. the battleship Gneisenau, which had been extensively stripped after the serious damage sustained during an attack on Kiel by RAF Bomber Command on the night of 26/27 February 1942; and 3. the incomplete aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin, covered with camouflage netting.
