Nakajima B5N

Nakajima B5N

With all due respects, this is a photo of a B6N "Jill" and NOT a B5N "Kate". Notice the Antenna post up front and to the starboard- a hallmark of the B6N. The B5N had a trailing antenna and no antenna post at all. Also notice the slight irregularity at the top surface of the engine cowl where there was an air intake on the B6N (for oil cooling, as I recall). This photo was taken circa June, 1944 during the Battle of the Mariana Islands (Kagero FAOTW #3, pg. 13).Still a great photo, but I have to rate it low due to the identity mistake. Sorry.
