The Attacker served from 17 August 1951 until 1954 before being replaced by Sea Hawks and Sea Venoms. After this the type was relegated to RNVR air squadrons until 1957.
Production totaled 52 F.Mk.1 fighters, 8 FB.Mk.1 fighter bombers and 85 FB.Mk.2 fighter bombers.
The only other user was Pakistan which received 36 F.Mk.1s without folding wings.
