Supermarine Spitfire F.Mk.IXC

Shown here just starting up in the dispersal area are four Spitfire F.Mk.IXCs of No.332 (Norwegian) Sqd based at North Weald in July 1943. Note that the squadron badge was carried on the port side of the fuselage only. AH-S, (MA301) and AH-T (LZ919), are both early production aircraft from the Castle Bromwich factory, and do not have the tropical filter which was standard on all later models.
