Shown here is a Spitfire FR.Mk.XIC of No.414 Sqd, RCAF, 39 (Reconnaissance) Wiong, 2nd Tactical Air Force coming into land. These special versions of the Mk.IX carried oblique cameras but could fight back, if necessary with their normal armament. One camera can be seen between the fuselage roundel and the identification letter.
