The technological nature of warfare during the Second World War placed great emphasis on the production of the weapons of war. Tanks, aircraft, ships and other munitions had to be manufactured in factories and workshops. Increasing the efficiency and output of industrial production became, therefore, a vital part of the war effort and a key subject for propaganda posters.
