U-511

Shown here is the Type IXC boat U-511 with a Japanese Navy launch alongside at the U-boat base at Penang in 1943. This boat, code-named 'Marco Polo 1' was Hitler's gift to the Japanese, and would serve the Imperial Japanese Navy as RO-500.
