Shown here is a view of U-537 leaving an unknown port early in the war. Note the rather primitive FuMO 29 fixed-array radar antenna attached to the front of the tower and covered in canvas. She was later sunk by the submarine USS Flounder in the Bali Sea on 9 November 1944 while trying to reach a patrol zone off Perth, Australia.
