Shown here is U-95 arriving at Lorient after the completion of her sixth war patrol, on 20 September 1941. The off-duty crew is drawn up on the afterdeck; lines and fenders are on deck, ready to secure the boat. Schreiber and the rest of the officers are on the bridge; he is the one in the white cap with his back to the proceedings. (It was traditional for the IWO to bring a boat into harbour at the end of a patrol.) Note the boat's only distinguishing mark is the "Snorting Bull" insignia of the 7th Flotilla.
