I didn’t realize the B-29 was so electric biased. I actually fly the 787 and will agree to its heavy electrical engineering to include its brakes (and its very reliable).

What I should have included in the build up to the question was would it no have been simpler to have a motor powered gun (not Gatling) to better the dependability over gas and recoil power?

Of note is the canopy, two helmets, and air refueling slipway markings painted on the underside of the lead aircraft. First hand experience with those type of markings is they work well and cause you to delay or not initiate a maneuver due to what appears to be an imminent collision.

Out of curiosity, who or how did you get checked out in the P38? Today I think guys get some B25 time first but not completely sure.
