Hi George Thank you so much for answering Wendy’s thread on Jack Russell and it’s great to be in contact with relatives of Jack Lazenby. When we first started to try and sort out Jack Russell’s service career we/I tried in vain to find relatives. I’m so glad you have found us via this great...

    Halifax II

Hi Wurger and all Great thread with some amazing detail on the Halifax and PFF work. Just interested in the role of RAF Defford and the H2S program. Read up on the subject last year for the project I was doing. Know Defford would fit out the prototype aircraft and carry out field modifications...

    eBay: Consolidated B-24 Liberator

Thanks Ewen much appreciated, have you ever come across Sqd/Ldr Bird in your research with 614 Sqd? Typically, I think, the port main wheel is obscuring where the ball turret is or H2X.

Just seen some pictures via eBay on an, unfortunately, expired auction. Just trying to ID a Halifax in the set of photographs. The serial number can be seen in the image posted here but not enough definition to read it! I have messaged the US eBay seller to see if he would pass my contact...

Hi Terry, been following your excellent tanker build. So much effort to get the detail right, impressive. Recently saw this picture on FB and reminded me to check back in on your project. Looking forward to seeing it come together and seeing the end result at Old Bucs 😃👍 Steve A from Hoveton

Halifax ID (possible 614 (PFF) Squadron, Italy.

looks like Italy? Can anyone ID it, wondering if it is a 178 squadron or one of the SAAF squadrons. Especially interested in the Halifax pictures in the group. Unfortunately missed the sale. Wonder if that is one from 614 (Pathfinder) squadron, as it is fitted with H2S radar which 148 special...

    Salvaging Lancasters

Cheers for sharing/posting, a great bit of info. Guess this was weighing up the 8th AAF options, with eventually developing the strategic air depots (SAD)? But also recently seen some pictures of a boneyard/salvage area on an individual bomber base for B-24’s. Also presume Col Noland was in...
