I am trying to locate the crash site of the plane on which my dad, Charles H Dahlgren, was a waist gunner and radio operator. He survived the crash and was a POW at Stalag Luft 4. He also survived the death march. Hoping to hear from someone who can help locate crash site

I don't have the exact location but here is some info.

Here's the MACR https://catalog.archives.gov/id/91035419?objectPage=28
It is scanned in reverse, Page 28 is the first page and Page 1 is the last.

ME - Report https://catalog.archives.gov/id/143481161

I couldn't find a photo of 52721 but here are some photo's of 52724 & 52725 in the same Bomb Group.

Hi Chas
I know a Hungarian aviation archaeologist who may be able to help you. He has researched and found many aircraft in his home country. We worked together, on piecing the story of a RAF Special Duties Halifax crash, that led to a memorial service with relatives attending. Happy to put you in touch.
Cheers
