1/350 Yamato by Border, Tamiya and Very Fire....

The Tamiya separate bow fits poorly, because that joint has mismatched fundamental compound radiuses cutting across a mass of raised detail. and is one of the bigger kit engineering disasters I have ever come across. With the extras I stupidly invested in, Tamiya literally lit on fire a thousand dollars of my limited funds. Now I will never have a Yamato.

And don't rely on builds that appear to show the bow joint fixed: That joint cannot be made right because fundamental shapes are mismatched in two directions: Section and plan: You can pretend the issue is fixed, but under shaving light the mismatch is too great to ever disappear because it is much deeper than the raised plating itself.

It is the kind of thing you cannot believe they have done when you actually see it in person. Again, do not trust photos, or people who minimise this issue.
